About Food Jars and Cans Bottle Blow Molding Machine
A food jars and cans bottle blow molding machine is a specialised two-step (two-stage) blow molding platform engineered to produce rigid PET, PETG, PP, or PC containers with wide-mouth openings, high-volume capacity, and the precise dimensional consistency that food-grade and pharmaceutical packaging standards demand. Unlike narrow-neck beverage bottle machines, this category addresses neck diameters typically ranging from 68 mm up to 180 mm and container volumes from 800 ml to 15,000 ml — a dimensional space that encompasses everything from spice jars and pickle containers to 5-litre edible oil drums.
The defining characteristic of machines in this series is the incision-free can-forming mechanism. Traditional easy-open can production required a separate post-process cutting station to trim the container to its final open-top profile. The machines in this series complete that forming step inside the blow mold itself, eliminating the additional equipment, reducing scrap from trimming damage, and delivering a cleaner production flow from preform to finished container in a single machine cycle.
These machines operate on the two-step principle: preforms are injection-moulded separately, cooled, warehoused if needed, then loaded into the blow molding machine for reheating and stretch-blow forming. This separation of the two phases gives process engineers precise independent control over preform wall thickness distribution and blowing temperature profile — both critical for wide-neck containers where the shoulder-to-body mass ratio is far higher than in a standard beverage bottle preform.

Quick Selection Guide by Application
Spice & Condiment Jars
500–1,500 ml · 96–110 mm neck
Single-cavity or dual-cavity standard models. Throughput typically adequate at 1,000–1,800 bph for mid-tier condiment operations.
Edible Oil Bottles
1,000–5,000 ml · 98–138 mm neck
Dual-cavity wide or large models. Focus on stretching stroke (450–500 mm) and mold-open distance to accommodate tall oil bottle profiles.
Easy-Open Cans
800–2,500 ml · 68–110 mm neck
Any model with incision-free forming mechanism. Single or dual-cavity depending on volume. Confirm can rim geometry compatibility with mold design team.
Bulk & Industrial Food Containers
5,000–15,000 ml · 138–168 mm neck
Large-format dual-cavity XL model (15,000 ml maximum volume, 168 mm max neck). Lower throughput (900 bph) reflects the longer cycle time these large containers require.
High-Volume Consumer Jars
800–2,500 ml · 68–110 mm neck
Four-cavity models. Output of 3,200–4,600 bph suits large FMCG brand production runs. Factor in higher compressed air demand (4,000–6,500 ltr/min high-pressure) in utility planning.

How to Choose the Right Food Jars and Cans Blow Molding Machine
① Neck Diameter
This is the most discriminating parameter. If your container specification requires a neck diameter above 138 mm, only the large-volume 2-cavity models in this series can accommodate the mold tooling. If your neck diameter is below 70 mm, consider whether a standard beverage bottle machine platform may be more economical. Containers between 96 mm and 138 mm neck diameter have the widest model selection across cavity counts
② Container Volume
Container volume determines which mold-open distance and stretching stroke specifications are needed. Containers above 5,000 ml require the large-format models — smaller cavity-count machines physically cannot accommodate the mold tooling for those geometries. For sub-1,000 ml jars and cans, the single-cavity entry models offer lower capital outlay with full process capability.
③ Required Throughput
Match the theoretical output figure to your minimum viable throughput, not your ideal maximum. Factor in realistic line efficiency (typically 80–85% for food packaging environments) when calculating actual useful output. If 1,800 bph dual-cavity output covers two shifts, there is no economic case for moving to a four-cavity platform with its higher capital and utility cost.
④ Resin Type
PET and PETG are standard across all models in this series. PP requires a Mold Temperature Controller to manage the higher mold temperature PP orientation demands — confirm this auxiliary equipment is included in your system specification. PC and PCTG are also processable; confirm the specific material grade with your technical team at the preform design stage, as these resins have narrower process windows than PET.
⑤ Available Floor Space
Machine footprints in this series range from 2,525 × 1,525 mm (single-cavity compact) to 6,200 × 2,150 mm (four-cavity wide). Add a minimum 1,000 mm clearance on all sides for maintenance access, and confirm that the structural floor loading capacity at your facility exceeds the machine weight — which ranges from 2,500 kg to 8,000 kg across the series.

⑥ Production Format Mix
If your line runs multiple container formats across shifts, prioritise models with higher preform holder counts — a larger holder track provides longer oven dwell time, which is more forgiving across different preform wall thicknesses without requiring oven temperature changes. A machine with 92 holders (four-cavity standard model) handles format changes more smoothly than one with 38 holders (single-cavity compact).
